Artificial intelligence (AI) describes the ability of computers or machines to perform tasks that normally require human thought. AI includes methods that enable systems to learn, understand, decide, adapt and process natural language.
Different types of AI are:
Weak AI: Systems that can perform certain tasks efficiently but lack human-like understanding or consciousness, such as Siri.
Strong AI: Systems that have a deep understanding and, like humans, can learn independently. Such systems are still the subject of research.
Machine learning (ML): A sub-area of AI in which systems learn from experience without being programmed. Algorithms enable machines to recognize patterns, make predictions and adapt to new data.
Deep learning: A special form of machine learning that focuses on neural networks with many layers (deep neural networks). These deeper structures can recognize complex patterns, especially with large amounts of data.
