Digital treatment platform

"ASSIST" for optimized coordination in the
Stuttgart addiction support system

Klinikum Stuttgart has established the Regional Competence Center (RKZ) in cooperation with the University of Ulm. This service refers people with addiction problems to the various services offered by Stuttgart's addiction support system in line with their needs.
711media designed and implemented the digital treatment platform based on the PHP framework Laravel for the ASSIST project. The platform enables optimized coordination and communication between treatment providers, caregivers and those affected.

"Assist" pilot project

The digital treatment platform was designed and implemented with the highest security standards in mind. It is used for coordination and communication between the patient, the person receiving treatment and the caregiver, simplifies the exchange of documents, optimizes the coordination of appointments and enables clear definitions of treatment goals.

Project highlights

  • Data protection-compliant release of sensitive treatment documents through protected infrastructure
  • Highly complex roles and rights system to protect sensitive data
  • Provision of digital diagnostic tools for the automated coordination of affected persons

Individual treatment assistant

The project focused in particular on the creation and future development of a digital platform for addiction support. The aim was to create a central online platform on which all addiction support facilities in the Stuttgart region could network. This digital platform should facilitate access to information, resources and support for those affected and enable efficient collaboration.

The integration of digital support will make the work processes of the facilities more efficient and effective. Resources can be better coordinated, data can be managed more easily and the exchange of information between professionals can be improved.

Project requirements

The ASSIST platform as the central hub for needs-based support for those affected and institutions.

Detailed
requirements analysis

  • Joint workshop to analyze requirements and define project goals
  • Detailed target group analysis, design of a prototype and implementation of a click dummy
  • Overall concept based on wireframes for the subsequent programming of the system
  • Iterative coordination processes of the wireframes for frontend, backend, features and roles

Project details

Digital
screening

A digital screening option using a multi-stage MateQ questionnaire enables those affected by addiction problems to get started. This is followed by a standardized diagnostic process in personal contact, on the basis of which individual treatment goals are defined. A customized treatment plan is drawn up, which serves as a treatment assistant. The project-accompanying evaluation of the University of Ulm flows directly into the platform and supports continuous adjustments.

Integrated
Appointment management

Comprehensive management system for treatment offers, free treatment places, appointments and a complete overview of appointments for patients and practitioners.

Individual
treatment plan

The pilot project focuses on the daily treatment assistant, which supports those responsible in the digital creation of the treatment plan. The central functions include adding and approving documents as well as updating and viewing the treatment status. Different views, depending on the assigned rights and roles in the system, protect the data of those affected.

Further features

Complex messaging system

Each action triggers various functions & automated messages to participants.

Goal cards feature

Goal cards help those affected to prioritize their goals and wishes for treatment.

Detailed log files

Every action in the system is logged in detail and used for subsequent evaluations, among other things.

Results

Various successes have already been measured since the digital platform was implemented.

Pioneering pilot project

The specific requirements for data protection and log files made the individual development of ASSIST unavoidable. The range of functions had to be tailored precisely to the requirements in order to guarantee the highest security standard and at the same time provide all the necessary functions.
