What is nudging?

Know-how from A-Z

Nudging is a strategy to persuade people to act in a certain way, whereby the nudging is perceived subconsciously or positively by the decision-makers.

The decisive factor in nudging is that no coercion or pressure is exerted on users and no economic incentive is created, but that consumers are given freedom of choice, which should lead to a purchase or conversion.

Nudging is implemented, for example, by offering a choice of three different service packages. If the company primarily wants to sell the medium service package, it can offer the smaller service package with fewer services and the large one at a high price, so that users weigh up the price-performance ratio and opt for the medium package accordingly, even if not all services are required.
