What is the eCPC?

know-how from A-Z

The eCPC (effective cost per click) or effective cost per click is usually calculated after a campaign, as it often differs from the CPC. It therefore supplements the CPC remuneration model, which defines the costs per click before the start of a campaign. However, the eCPC can also be used to evaluate the costs of ongoing campaigns.

To calculate the eCPC, the costs of the ad placement are divided by the actual clicks. For example, if the cost of placing the ad is EUR 2,000 and the number of actual clicks is 5,000, the eCPC is 40 cents.

This analysis can be particularly helpful for the next search engine advertising and social media marketing campaigns in order to optimize them.
